Charles Kenneth Escue, age 51, of Greenbrier, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 31 at First Baptist Church in White House, TN.
Charles was born on December 10, 1973, in Nashville, TN, to the late Paul Allen Escue, Sr. and Vickie Cheryl Moore Escue Moncier. He moved to Greenbrier in the fifth grade, where he quickly found his home and community - and never left. A proud Greenbrier Bobcat, Charles played football in high school and remained a lifelong supporter of his hometown.
He worked faithfully for over 20 years as a Meter Reader for the City of Greenbrier, known for his strong work ethic, humor, and willingness to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He was truly a kind soul who never met a stranger.
Charles loved life's simple joys: fishing, camping, reading, and watching cooking shows. But more than anything, he loved his daughters, Victoria and Kennedy, who were truly the center of his world. His grandson Jasper brought him immense pride and joy. Charles didn't just raise his daughters - he helped raise others too. He was a father, a brother, and a loyal friend to many beyond his own family.
Above all, Charles loved the Lord. He served as a preacher in Children's Church at Calvary Baptist for a time, where he shared the Gospel with young hearts. One of his favorite scriptures was Romans 10:8–13, a passage that perfectly reflected the faith he lived out every day. His belief in Christ was deep, unwavering, and the foundation of who he was.
Charles had an unforgettable sense of humor and a magnetic personality. He had no idea how much people looked up to him or how many lives he quietly touched. To know him was to laugh with him, to feel seen, and to feel loved.
He is survived by his daughters, Victoria Escue and Kennedy Escue, both of Greenbrier; his beloved grandson, Jasper; his mother, Vickie Moncier of Poplar Bluff, MO; and his brothers, Paul A. Escue, Jr. of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Christopher Wayne Escue of Greenbrier. He also leaves behind a host of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
