In Loving Memory of Carolyn Marie Sayer
July 7, 1957 – October 16, 2025
Carolyn Marie Sayer, age 68, of Lansing, Michigan, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 16th, surrounded by her family and the love she so freely gave throughout her life.
Born and raised in Lansing, Carolyn was a radiant presence-joyful, strong, and full of life. Her greatest devotion was to her faith and her family. She was a beloved wife to Bill Sayer, her soulmate and best friend, and a proud mother and grandmother whose love knew no bounds. Her two daughters and ten grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she cherished every moment spent cheering them on, laughing with them, and praying over them.
Carolyn's heart was woven with grace and grit. She was a woman of deep faith, active in her church and Bible Study Fellowship, always ready with a warm hug, a listening ear, or encouraging word, to lift someone's spirits. She once coached cheerleading when her daughters were in high school, and her enthusiasm never waned-especially when it came to her favorite teams, the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Tigers.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: camping all summer long with her family at Burt Lake, where laughter echoed through the trees and memories were made around the fire. She and Bill shared countless adventures on their motorcycle, exploring the beauty of the United States together with wind in their hair and love in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, David and Nancy Christopher, and her precious granddaughter, Lacey Holsworth, whose memory she carried tenderly. Carolyn is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, her daughters, her nine grandchildren, her sister Cindy, and her brother Steve-each of whom she held close to her heart.
Carolyn faced Parkinson's disease with remarkable courage and humor, never letting it dim her light. Her legacy is one of faith, laughter, and fierce love. She leaves behind a trail of memories that will continue to bloom in the lives of those she touched.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2:00 p.m., at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made for Gideon Bibles ( gideons.org) continuing Carolyn's lifelong mission of sharing God's word.
"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever." - Isaiah 40:8
