Carolyn Sheppard-Zischang was born on April 27, 1943 and passed from our lives July 15, 2025, proudly reaching age 82. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she moved to Point Blank, Texas for her first retirement and finally settled in the Mena, Arkansas area for her final years.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Edith Davis, sister Barbara Walpole and brother Raymond Davis.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kenneth Zischang, daughter Terri Casanova, sisters Verna McClelland and Edy Hicks, three grandsons Jarrett Casanova, Joshua Casanova, Joey Casanova and a great granddaughter Savannah (Snappy) Pearson.

Carolyn was a loving soul who drew people to her like a moth to a flame. Her vibrant personality allowed even strangers to open their hearts and lives to the beauty of being in her presence. She always put others first, above her own needs and comfort. Because of all that giving, she lived a full and joyful life, fully rewarded for all her selfless efforts and lifestyle.

Carolyn excelled in multiple careers including being a premier executive assistant for a number of industry leaders in the Houston area, owning her own company Carolyn Sheppard & Associates and later in life, achieved success in top positions with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

For each of you who knew Carolyn, you know mere words do not come near expressing what a wonderful wife, mother and person she was. The family asks that you individually celebrate her life in a way that fits your memory of her. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
