Carrie Lee Edwards, age 84, of Erwin, went to be in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Erwin, Carrie Lee was a member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church for more than 47 years. In addition to her parents, Ralph M. Sparks, Sr. and Julia Bailey Sparks, Carrie Lee is preceded in death by her brothers: Ralph Sparks, Jr., Everett Sparks and Ronald Sparks and her nephew Gary Sparks.Carrie Lee Edwards has left behind to cherish her memory, her husband and best friend of 56 years, Stanley Edwards, grandchildren: David Boyd, Ashley Bradstreet (Seth), nephews: Kevin Sparks, Brian Sparks, Nieces: Dawn Sparks, Valerie Higgins, Heather Ricker, and many other beloved family and friends.Carrie Lee loved her church family and enjoyed going on outings with them. Carrie Lee was a dedicated nurse for more than 33 years, who touched the lives of many through her work and her personal connections. She and Stanley loved to take road trips together with their favorite dog "Pepper". They loved to stay in their camper at the lake and fish as much as possible.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Carrie Lee Edwards in a funeral service to be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held following the funeral in Evergreen Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
