Carrie Marie (Teague) Shollenberger, 49, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away at peace on August 31, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Carrie was born April 10, 1976, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Roger Neale Teague and Sharon Gayle (Allen) Teague. She grew up in El Dorado Springs, Missouri and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School with honors. During high school, she was grateful to be saved at Concord Missionary Baptist Church and was looking forward to eternal peace.
Carrie is survived by her parents; her daughter Kyra Faith Shollenberger; Kyra's father J. Michael Shollenberger, Jr.; her brother's family Craig, Mary Anne, Megan, Allison, Connor, and Tyler Teague; many friends; extended family; and her faithful dog, Oliver.
After graduating magna cum laude from (Southwest) Missouri State University, Carrie spent her career in human resources and business management, mostly in Florida. When Kyra was young, Carrie enjoyed volunteering at her schools and participating in fundraiser 5k walks/runs. The beach was Carrie's happy place, and she loved being in nature.
Carrie loved adventures, and traveling with her daughter was her favorite. She visited all 50 states and 12 countries. Recent trips included Lake Tahoe and then Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and South Padre Island. Besides travel, Carrie loved dogs, yoga, and exploring ways people could be kinder to themselves and others. Always wanting to help others, Carrie donated her body to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Friends and family will be received for a Celebration of Life for Carrie on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at Parker-Millard Funeral Service in Columbia, Missouri. A small service will follow at a later date at Hazel Dell Cemetery, Cedar County, Missouri.
Honorary pallbearers are Neale Teague, Craig Teague, Connor Teague, Tyler Teague, Rick Huftalen, Pat O'Grady, and Mike Shollenberger.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or your favorite charity.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Millard Funeral Service and Crematory, 12 E. Ash St.; Columbia, Missouri 65203. (573) 449-4153. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.milardfamilychapels.com
