Lima, Ohio Caryn A. Miller, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at 11:50 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, surrounded by her loving family. Caryn's family members often referred to her as "Saint Caryn" due to her patience, wisdom and understanding. Caryn was born on March 26, 1948, in Connersville, Indiana, to Marion "Buck" and Rosemary (Collier) Fenters, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael T. Miller, whom she married on August 12, 1973 and who passed away on July 1, 2021. A 1966 graduate of Connersville High School, Caryn also attended Purdue University. She devoted over 30 years of service in the Emergency Room at Lima Memorial Hospital, where she was known for her compassion and dedication. Caryn loved spending time outdoors working in her gardens and landscaping. In her younger years, Caryn and Mike enjoyed participating in bowling leagues. She was an avid fan of Purdue Athletics and enjoyed watching science fiction movies. Caryn cherished time with her family, especially during the holidays, and her love for them was unwavering. Caryn is survived by her children, Rebecca "Beca" (Kevin) Sheidler, Sarah (Jason) Hanna, Alison Miller, grandchildren, Payton Sheidler, Ellie Sheidler, Cooper Hanna, Claire Hanna, Crew Hanna, Adilena Howell, Michael Garlock, Kinley Custer, also survived by her extended family in Connersville, IN. In addition to her parents and husband, Caryn was preceded in death by her beloved stepmother, Nevada Fenters. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Chiles - Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, with a Wake Service to follow at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family during this difficult time. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
