With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we celebrate the life of Cassandra Michelle Dockery-a woman full of fire, laughter, and love. Cassandra passed away on May 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, fun, and fierce devotion to her family and friends.
Cassandra was a proud mother of seven: Haywood Jones, Rayshawn Emmanuel, Michael Emmanuel, Takeisha Dockery, Michael Lassiter Jr., Tameka Dockery, and Tyshawn Dockery. Her spirit lives on in her grandchildren: JahMir, JaNiyah, and A'aLiyah (children of Haywood); two children of Rayshawn; two children of Michael Emmanuel; Ryan (child of Takeisha); Amina and Nazir (children of Michael); and Aiden, Nyir, and Elijah (children of Tameka).
She is also survived by her siblings Gary Lemon, Danita Dockery, and Danny Dockery; her beloved aunts Barbara Hall, Alberta Lemon, and Vickie Johnson; and countless cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Cassandra was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Lee Lemon Dockery and Dannie Hugh Dockery.
Anyone who knew Cassandra knew she was the life of the party. She had a smile that lit up every room, a laugh that made others join in, and a love for dancing that was truly contagious. Whether she was turning up the music or gathering the family together for a celebration, she brought joy wherever she went. She loved hard, laughed loud, and lived on her own terms.
Her energy was unmatched, and her love for her people-especially her children and grandchildren-ran deep. She was bold, vibrant, beautiful, and unapologetically herself.
Details for a celebration of Cassandra's unforgettable life will be shared by the family. In the meantime, we ask everyone to honor her memory by dancing a little, loving a lot, and never missing a chance to enjoy life-just like she did.
