When we think of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, wife, loyal friend, sister-in-law, and cousin, we visualize a lady blessed with a great heart of courage, wisdom, and independence blended with a strong faith in God. She passed from time to eternity on September 14, 2023, at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana, surrounded by her husband, children, and son-in-law.
Cassandra Debra Frazier Gillie was born to the parentage of the late Evenlyn Frazier and Ike Gordon on June 14, 1958, in Pineville, Louisiana. She attended school at Pineville High School in Pineville, Louisiana.
Sister Gillie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend W. Humphrey at Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church. She remained a faithful and dedicated member under the leadership of Reverend Ronald Carnahan until God called her home. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and also the musician for twenty-two years.
Mrs. Gillie was a stay-at-home mom who loved all her children with all her heart. She met her husband, Allen Gillie, and they were married for twelve years.
Sister Gillie was preceded in death by her parents, Evenlyn Frazier and Ike Gordon; son, Willie Joseph, Jr.; great-grandson, Treyvon De'Shawn Joseph; and brother, "Butch."
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 12 years, Allen Gillie; six children, two daughters, Doshia Hall (Antonio) and Shontel Andrews (Jerry), and four sons, Christopher Joseph, Fredrick Joseph (Ashley), Patrick Joseph (Shay), and Torris Joseph; grandsons, Ronald Silas III, DeAndre Hall, Antwon Hall, Austin Joseph, Christopher Joseph, Jr., Tristen, Taylor, DeMarkus Joseph, Patrick Joseph, Jr., Jeremiah, Micah, Xavier, and Emmanuel; granddaughters, Alexius Joseph, Ashley Joseph, Alaina Joseph, Harmony Joseph, and McKenzee Joseph, a total of twenty-seven grandchildren together with her husband; five great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; brother, Roderick Frazier; her Mars Hill Church family and all her other church families; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and her many close friends.
