Catherine Mulios

Catherine (Cathy) Mulios, treasured matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 18, 1936, she was the cherished daughter of the late Kosta and Christine (Mantakis) Tasis. Catherine's warmth and devotion to family defined her life.
Catherine's legacy is carried forward by her loving children, Christ and his wife Donna Mulios, and Terry Mulios. Her life was further enriched by the unwavering love of her grandchildren Jim, William, Elias, and Shayla as well as her dear brother George Tasis.
Reflecting a life of selfless dedication, Catherine was a loving homemaker who prioritized the wellbeing and happiness of her family above all.
Catherine's love knew no bounds. When her children grew older, she dedicated her time to caring for the babies and young children of local families as a nanny in both Kingsbridge and Manhattan, alongside her lifelong friend, Halide Kaunis.
Catherine was known as being a mother to all who knew her, as well as being a talented seamstress/tailor, an amazing home cook, and an intelligent woman who learned many languages over the course of her life, such as Turkish, Greek, English, French, and Spanish.
Catherine enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, shopping, sewing, visiting the beauty parlor, telling stories, reading on the beach in Greece, taking long drives to enjoy the foliage in the fall, and watching her favorite TV crime and romance dramas in her free time.
Sadly, Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband Illas Mulios in 2010, whom she immigrated to America with in 1956, as well as her dear brother Adam Tasis and her cherished grandson Michael.
Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, the essence of Catherine's kind and strong-willed spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
Visitation will take place Friday, May 23, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Catherine's life will be held 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Leroy Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10705.
Following Mass, Catherine will be escorted to her final resting place in Raymond Hill Cemetery, Carmel, NY.
