Catherine Veronica "Kaye" (Lahey) Wilcox, 86, formerly of Georgetown, MA and North Port, FL, passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, November 14, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert R. Wilcox, who passed in 2013.
She leaves her devoted children, Thomas A. Wilcox and his wife Susan, of Intervale, NH, and Lou Ann Fleming and her husband Stephen, of Paxton; four cherished grandchildren, Ryan Fleming, of North Oxford, Kirsten Wilcox, of Andover, Tyler Fleming and his partner Shelby Gravel, of Barrington, NH, and Matthew Wilcox and his partner Margaret O'Connell, of Danvers; and her close friend, Margie Weaver, of Georgetown. Kaye was also predeceased by her siblings, John Lahey, Mildred Lahey, Richard Lahey, and Helen DeSantis; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson.
Kaye was born, raised, and educated in Lawrence, daughter of the late John F. and Loretta (Nason) Lahey. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Lawrence, prior to attending Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing, where she received as a Certified Nurses Aide Certificate. Kaye began her working career as an operator for New England Telephone, then worked for Lawrence General as a CNA for several years.
Later, she worked as a crossing guard in Georgetown, and retired in 2007 as a bus driver for Kinson Bus Lines in Georgetown. Of all her roles, being a homemaker for her family was most important – she was so devoted to her family, and cherished her husband, children, and grandchildren.
After being Georgetown residents for 40 years, Kaye and Robert moved to North Port, FL in 2009, and enjoyed visiting family in New England during the summer months. The pair kept busy during their retirement, and Kaye served as a Eucharistic Minister in North Port.
In her free time, Kaye enjoyed bowling, playing Bridge, baking, dancing, traveling all over the world, camping with family and friends, and, above all, spending time with her beloved grandchildren and family, by whom she will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kaye's family between 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM, and will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
