Cathryn Venti

Cathryn "Cathy" (Pino) Venti, age 94, of Weymouth, died peacefully at the Ruth McLain Hospice House in Braintree on July 19, 2024. Cathy was raised and educated in Braintree. Her lifelong joy was the theater, and was developed at Braintree High School where she was voted best actress and co-directed the senior show of 1947. Later, with Curtain Call Theater, she had leading roles in numerous productions, served as president, and designed many award-winning floats for the annual Quincy Christmas Parade. For her dedicated service at Curtain Call, Cathy was the recipient of an honorary lifetime membership. Ms. Venti worked for many years for the Proctor and Gamble company. Throughout her lifetime she was an avid reader, belonging to several book clubs. She was an international traveler, enjoying trips to England, France, Amsterdam, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Japan and in the United States.
Devoted mother of Steven Venti and his wife Naoko of Tokyo, Japan, Jeanmarie Venti of Halifax, Marijane Meyer of Pembroke, Philip Venti of Plymouth, and Richard Venti and his wife Kimberly of Baltimore, MD. Mother-in-law of the late Richard Meyer. Sister of John Pino of Panama City, FL, and the late Patricia Sala. Loving Grandmother to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cathy was the loving companion of the late Clifford O. Bates. Memorial visiting hours at the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington Street, Weymouth on Saturday, August 10th from 3-6 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
