Cecille "Sis" Lucretia Gregoire, sister, aunt/tante, mother, nanny/nanan, and grandmother gracefully departed this life surrounded by love and family on August 12th, 2025 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi
Born in Dulac, Louisiana on March 21st, 1941, Cecille spent 49 years of her life there, raising her daughter, Melinda, and devoting her career to the seafood industry, until settling in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1990. There, she worked for M&M Processing until retirement, after 2 victorious battles with non-hodgkins lymphoma. She resided at the Villa Maria in Ocean Springs for the final 15 years of her life, enjoying time with her great-grandchildren and the scenery of downtown. She was always there for anyone who needed her, often heard saying "If you need me, call me.", and fiercely loved her family with no bounds, always excited to catch up with the people she loved most.
Cecille was predeceased by her parents, John Nickless Gregoire and Mary Elda Gregoire; brothers, Morris Gregoire and Norris Gregoire; sisters, Alice Gregoire, Virginia Dardar, Lillian Rodrigue, Josephine Parfait, and Eva Gregoire; and her only child, Melinda Hightower.
Cecille is survived by her granddaughter, Kyra (Nicholas) Rogers; great grandchildren, Channing Rogers and Celeste Rogers; sisters, Nora Smith, Elda Gregoire, Theresa Solet, and Peggy Pontiff; one brother, Nick Gregoire and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives, and friends.
A memorial supper in Cecille’s honor is being planned and will be held at a later date. Interment will take place privately at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens columbarium in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes is honored to serve the family of Cecille Gregoire.
