Barbara Baker Obituary
Barbara French Baker, 97 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025.
She was born in Mount Gilead, OH. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Millsaps College and her master’s degree from the University of Mississippi.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Baker; parents, John A. and Helen F. Byrd; and brothers, John Byrd French and Richard Byrd French.
She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (James) Baker-Steele and Rebecca (James) Baker Garner; grandchildren, Katelyn Leigh (Michael) Shanks and Sarah Lenox Steele; and great-grandchildren, Baker Glenn Shanks and Stanley Miller Shanks.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to your favorite charity.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00am on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
