Matthew Guy Bernardo, 46, of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in Pascagoula.
Born on September 15, 1978, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Matthew was the beloved son of Guy and Althea Bernardo. He attended Mississippi State University and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy from 2000 to 2004.
Following his service, Matthew built a dedicated career as a senior electronic technician with top secret clearance at SRC–Scientific Research Corporation at Ingalls Shipyard.
Outside of his career, Matthew was an avid reader who also loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, and hiking. He was an animal lover and enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Rohan, and his cat, Cosmo.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Guy and Althea Bernardo, along with Rohan and Cosmo.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until service time.
