Cemil Hamad Obituary
AKRON - Cemil Hamad, 101, of Akron passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 77 loving years, Adele, sister-in-law Jane Hamad, son Mark (Jackie) Hamad, daughters Teresa (Dennis) Kowalski, Beverly (Jim) Peters, and Camille (Bari) Barbuto. He was Jido to grandchildren Kelly (Matt) Bradley, Kasey (Drew) Lincoln, Kyle (Nichole) Hamad, Brett (Carla) Kowalski, Brooke Simpson, Devin (Maria) Kowalski, Joe (Erica) Peters, Lindsey (Toney) Morton, Nick (Jaclynn) Peters. He was Jid-Jid to 14 great grandchildren, and loved by many nieces and nephews.
Cemil was the ultimate patriarch, a role model and friend to all who knew him, and a highly decorated WWII Veteran. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family. Golf was his second love, a passion he shared with his loved ones. Our family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Brookdale Senior Living, and Tradition Health and Hospice. Family will receive visitors on Friday, March 15 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church, 507 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road in Fairlawn. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Cedars Church.
