Lafayette: The services for Cephas Job Ruffin will take place on Saturday, March 2nd at Kinchen Funeral Home in Lafayette. Visitation begins at 10am followed by the service at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
Cephas Job Ruffin Jones, also known as Big C, was born on. February 16, 1989, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to David Anthony Jones and Linda Kay Poydras Ruffin. He was called to rest on February 14, 2024.
Big C attended Lafayette High School where he took up General Studies, He also attended Louisiana Youth Program for entry level welding. Big C loved Sports. He enjoyed playing football and baseball. He played baseball at Brown Park Sports League.
Cephas was proud and loving father and amazing uncle. He was family oriented. Family meant the world to him. Big C was that little big brother who would enter the room and his smile would light up the place.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughter, SaKailee Kay Ruffin; her mom, SaKange Robertson, Natasha Wilridge; father, David Jones; Brother, Kendrick Young; Sisters, Darcus "Rakah" Ruffin-Charles (David "Yasad), Tesiamarie Trahan, Danasha Celestine, and Markethia Jamie Broussard; bonus siblings, Revis, Simeka, and Asia Comeaux; uncles, Thomas Poydras, Paul Gobert, Ronald Jones, Frederick Jones (Andrea), and Forneal Jones; aunts, Donatille Lewis, Barbara Comeaux, Amanda Bob, Fornetta Jones, Anjelica Jones, Marla Green Hawkins (Ollie), and Lisa Green Jackson (Vincent); nephews, Dontavis "Gabar", Damani Yasarwan", David Shapar, Moses, Jeremiah, Kendrick Jr., Knowledge, Ke'Lian; Nieces, Dacelyn, Dejae, Catrina, Elizabeth, Dezirae, Alexis, Aubrey Marie, Kylin, Laila, Lonii Laykyn, Liea and Nova and a host of family and friends.
Cephas was preceded in death by his Triplets, Kalaan, Kadence, and Kameron; mother, Linda Kay Ruffin; Brother, Kalaan Cy Alfred Ruffin; Grandmothers, Octavia Brown Poydras and Gail Jones, and aunt, Lorita Comeaux Gobert.
