Chad Mitzel Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 7, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chad Michael Mitzel (44) of Wrightsville, PA, on February 2, 2025. Chad was born on July 9, 1980, in Craley, PA, growing up on a pitcher's mound when he wasn't out exploring all that nature had to offer.
Chad is survived by his father Mike and wife Debi Mitzel, his mother Lori and husband John (Fred) Shermeyer. Chad's life was blessed with his siblings Dylan and Brandon Hendrix, his two precious children, Brayden Mitzel-Ackerly and Rylee Mitzel, his partner in life, Rachel Gunnett, her son Lucas Miles, and a host of beloved cousins, aunts and uncles.
Chad was a proud 1998 alumnus of Eastern York High School. He excelled for 15+ years at Apex Tool Group as a Certified Maintenance Machinist. Chad remained active in his community as a well-respected volunteer Baseball Coach at Eastern York Recreation Authority and collected countless patches from the American Poolplayers Association.
Chad is remembered for his incredible strength of character, driven personality and infectious quick wit. He was a selfless and compassionate father and led his life with a sense of integrity. His guidance and lessons on personal growth will continue to inspire and influence everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
A Celebration of Life for Chad will be held on February 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm until 2 pm at Red Lion Bible Church. We invite all friends and family to come and commemorate the life of a man who touched so many with his remarkable spirit.
In lieu of donations, we encourage those to follow in his footsteps, participating and encouraging the dear family he left behind.
