Charles J. Aber, 76 of Richland Center died Thursday, June 6, 2024 after a lengthy struggle with multiple health issues. He was the youngest child of Roy and Myrtle (Moore) Aber. Charles graduated from Richland Center High School and UW Platteville. He earned his masters degree from UW LaCrosse. He worked his family's wholesale grocery business until it closed. He worked in business finance and in healthcare finance and administration. He took pride in the exact detail of his work. He enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking, hunting, fishing, shooting sports and travels to Alaska. He was a self taught worker of many trades. He could build and repair nearly anything. He was a private pilot and enjoyed several cross country adventures. He was a board member at Pine Valley Healthcare, Schmitt Woodland Hills and participated in Rotary. Charles is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet Aber of Richland Center, a brother, Richard (Kay) Aber of Kenai, Alaska, a sister, Linda (Zeke) Turner of Richland Center, nephews, Jeff and Daniel Turner and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and first wife, Cindy Bethke. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center. Monsignor Roger Scheckel will officiate with burial in the Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Stafford Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. and again on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Online condolences available at www.staffordfuneralhomes.com. The Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
