With great sorrow, the family of Charles "Charlie" Jones announces his sudden passing on October 10, 2024, in Palm Springs, CA. Born in Calipatria, CA, on January 22, 1944, to Buck and Iva Jones, Charlie brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Charlie started his career driving a truck for Swiss Farms, delivering from El Centro to San Diego daily. Later, he worked for many years with Wonder Bread in El Centro, CA, before moving to Brawley in 1969. There he met the love of his life, Deanna, and began managing Mel's Liquor for 20 years. He also worked for Pepsi for 19 years, building strong friendships and connections with everyone he worked with. During his time in Brawley, Charlie served as President of Brawley Little League for 10 years, where he dedicated himself to helping kids, especially those less fortunate, by mentoring and guiding them.

Charlie was a passionate sportsman who enjoyed golfing with his golf crew, bowling, fishing, and hunting with his children. For over 40 years, he line-danced with a joyful heart at retirement homes, churches, and farmers' markets, bringing smiles and encouragement wherever he went. He also loved teaching others to line dance, showing his big-hearted and sometimes ornery spirit.

He touched many lives and made countless friends who will dearly miss him.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Iva Jones, and his brother, Melvin Jones. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deanna; daughter Katie Jones; sons Chad (Elvira) Jones and Cory Jones; sister Donna (Jim) Edmonson; nephews Doug (Kelly) Jones, Gary Edmonson, Doug (Jennifer) Edmonson, David (Kelly) Dill; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Anaya Ranch on November 15th, starting at 5 PM.
