December 1, 1952 – August 23, 2025

Charles Lee Davis, 72, of Marshall, NC passed away on August 23, 2025. Born in Madison County to Mamie and Lois Davis of Marshall, Charles lived a life of dedication to his loving family and many friends and neighbors in the Madison County, Marshall, and Little Pine communities.

Charles graduated from Marshall High School in 1971 and upon retirement from Ingles in 1990, he ran the family's country store and convenience station, Davis Grocery, with his beloved parents. "The Store" was a pillar of the Little Pine community for many decades. Charles was known as a loving, welcoming, and friendly neighbor who would lend help to anyone at any time, and who found joy in his daily conversations with his many friends, family, and neighbors out and about in the community. Charles also found joy in tending to and helping his many pets and animals over the years.

Charles was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and mentor, serving as a youth baseball coach to his twin sons Keith and Kevin and their many friends and teammates throughout the 1980s and later in life as a loving grandfather to his 6 grandchildren. Charles cherished his many trips to the Raleigh, NC area to watch his grandchildren compete in sports, play, and grow in their many activities.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Teresa; his son Keith of Apex, NC; son Kevin and daughter-in-law Meghan of Apex, NC; and his grandchildren Justin, Ryan, Sophia, Emma, Henry, and Lily.

The family will receive friends and family for visitation at Madison Funeral Home on Wednesday August 27, 2025 from 6-8 pm, with a celebration of Charles' life during funeral services the following day, Thursday August 28, 2025, at 11 am at Madison Funeral home. Interment will follow at Dry Pond Cemetery.

Charles' legacy of kindness and wisdom will live on in all who knew him.

I remember how his parents always spoke of him with pride and his willingness and desire to assist them as they aged. He was truly a special person with a big heart.
