ANTHEM - Charles Tracy Hudson, 76, passed away peacefully in his home July 28, 2023, surrounded by his adoring wife and daughters. Warm, kind, and clever, he was dedicated to loving his family and serving his community. Charley was the person you wanted on the other end of all your meaningful conversations; when he listened to you, he made you feel like the most important person in the universe. He also loved music with all of his heart, was a lifelong cinephile, and considered any day where he could be helpful to be a day well spent.
Charley went to Cross Keys High School in Atlanta, GA, then received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a master's degree in information engineering at University of Michigan. His internship for Comshare in Ann Arbor, Michigan turned into 31 years as a Software Engineer. He then spent another 11 years as a Software Architect for JDA Software in Scottsdale, Arizona. He spent the last 9 years enjoying retirement with the love of his life, Kathryn
Elliott-Hudson.
Charley is preceded in death by his parents John & Barbara and brother Michael. He is survived by his soulmate and wife Kathryn; cherished daughters Tracy (Charles) Trauscht & Heather Hudson; stepdaughters Amy (Todd) Moser & Mia (Tracy) Thomas; grandchildren Dru, Trent, Josh, Morgan, Alex, Chase, Zakari, Courtney, & Charlotte; and beloved cats Luci & Fiona. He will be greatly missed.
A special thank you to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix for their care. Details on a celebration of Charley's life to be announced.

When I was teaching an evening class at Framingham State College (now Framingham State University) and had a medical emergency which rendered me unable to drive my car, it was reliable, unflappable Charley who came to my aid. He rescued me and drove me to get the help I needed. Always willing to help others, he remains in my memory as the epitome of a loyal friend.

I met Charley at MIT when I was working on a textile thesaurus for the U.S. Bureau of Standards via the Mechanical Engineering Department. As a result of our developing friendship, we went to Bermuda together and I painted his portrait. He'll always be remembered for his piano-recording gifts and great smile.
