Charles "Chuck" Allen Martin passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025 in
Hudson, Ohio while surrounded by his loved ones. Chuck was born on April 3,1938 to Joseph A. Martin and Anna L. Piatkowski Martin in Detroit, Michigan. He was a proud graduate of Wayne State University for his bachelor's and master's degrees and received his doctoral degree from the University of Detroit in Aeronautical Engineering with a specialization in the deicing of planes. He pursued careers as an instructor at General Motors Institute and Kent State University. Chuck also worked in aerospace with NASA Johnson Lewis and Glenn Locations. He was a founding member and senior fellow for American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and served as secretary for the society of automotive engineers on deicing. Chuck was also known for partnering with his wife in real estate through Howard Hannah as "Spouses selling Houses". He loved history, aeronautical sciences, and watching the Turner Classic Movie channel. Chuck was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic church in Hudson.
Chuck loved to make others laugh and to spend time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. Martin and Anna L. Pitowski Martin and his brothers William, Arthur, and Richard. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette; his children, daughter Jacqueline (Len) Kamlet of Santa Barbara, CA and son Christopher (Kathy) Martin of Mantua, OH; grandchildren Amanda (Samuel) Lipiec, Joe Kamlet, Katie Martin, and John Martin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Mary's Catholic church in
Hudson, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 340 N. Main St.,
Hudson, OH 44236. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery,
