Charles J. McClain

Charles J. McClain, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 87 in Yardley, PA. Born on November 22, 1937, in New York, NY, to the late Charles A. and Mary (Karazia) McClain, Charles lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Charlie was a dedicated father of three, grandfather of seven, and great grandfather of one. He served his country in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion as well as the VFW. Charlie was also a member of the Hamilton AOH division #1.
Charlie finished his long career as a teacher at Mercer County Community College, where he taught Computer Science. He retired in 2021. He also tended bar part time for many years at The Robbinsville Inn
Charlie and his late wife Mary loved to travel. They visited Ireland several times, Italy, and France. They also enjoyed their get aways to Aruba.
Hosting parties was something that Charlie reveled in. He was the consummate host and really enjoyed the St. Patrick's Day parties.
Charlie was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary McClain, and his granddaughter Alexandria Misnik.
Charlie leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Bryan McClain and his wife Karen, Ann McClain and her partner Tom Carroll, and Ellen Misnik and her husband Duke, his grandchildren, Kevin Loesser, Andrew Loesser, Adam Misnik, Maggie McClain, Sean McClain, and Kelly Misnik, his great grandson Henry Carlson, and his sister, Mary Ellen Carson.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton NJ. A second visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 E. State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ with mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow the visitation at 11 am.
