Charles Edgar McCurley, age 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center.
Born September 16, 1945, in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Edgar McCurley and Myrtice Reed McCurley. He was married for 59 years to Joyce Pierce McCurley until her death in 2023. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lynn McCurley and daughter, Charlene Rochester.
Charles, affectionately known as "Possum", was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. He enjoyed hunting, yard work, and cooking. He loved his beagle dogs and was a member of the Beagle Club in Abbeville.
He is survived by his son, Charles Anthony McCurley; daughter, Pamela McCurley; grandchildren, Travis McCurley, Chad Smith, Toni Marie McCurley, Christopher Blake McCurley, Corey Patton, and Michael Rochester; and a number of great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 4, 2025, at 10:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Leland Pitts officiating.
