Charles Franklin Moody Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. Born on August 14, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Frank and Florence Moody. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Charles lived a life marked by dedication-to his family, his profession, and his many passions.
Charles built a distinguished career as a construction manager with Hussman Corp, where he was admired not only for his expertise and work ethic but also for his integrity, warmth, and unwavering camaraderie. His colleagues in the construction industry knew him as a true professional who led by example and inspired those around him.
Outside of work, Charles was a man of diverse interests and deep enthusiasm. He had a lifelong love for hot rods, antique cars, and the thrill of drag racing. He also found great joy and peace in gardening, with a yard that reflected both his meticulous care and his deep appreciation for nature's beauty.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Moody; sons Richard (Denise) Moody, Charles Moody Jr., and Eric (Susan) Moody; brothers Billy Joe Moody and Thomas (Connie) Moody; sister Ruth (Gilbert) McMinn; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a cherished extended family of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The legacy of love, laughter, and strength he nurtured within his family will continue to echo through generations.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home. A celebration of Charles's life will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Sam Clark Chapel, with Brother Jason Hudgens and Brother Micah Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Methodist Church Cemetery in Dallas, Georgia, with Matt Worthington, Payton Worthington, Andrew Moody, Bradley Moody, Garrett Kilpatrick, and Dan Haynes serving as Pallbearers.
