Charles Edward Pfeister, age 68, of Somonauk, IL passed away on October 23, 2023 at his home. He was born on February 25, 1955 in Austin, TX to Imogene and Herman Pfeister.
Being raised in a military family, Charles attended many different schools. He graduated from Mt. Carmel high school and then went on to earn a degree in recreation management from SIU in Carbondale.
Charles was an Eagle Scout who led many scouting expeditions in addition to being an overall outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, boating and was a skilled outdoor cook.
Charles was the owner and operator of a vending company for over 20 years. He was a loving fiancé, father, and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Charles is survived by his fiancé, Debra Bacon of Somonauk, IL; his daughters, Katelyn (John) Dehm of Bartlett, IL and Lauren (Jared Buttry) Pfeister of Aurora, IL; his siblings, Raymond Pfeister of New York, NY and Joanna Pfeister of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1275 S. County Line Road, Sandwich, IL. Interment will be private. A luncheon will be held at 3:00 PM following the service at the Lake Holiday Club at 283 Easy St., Somonauk, IL 60552.
Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Boy Scouts of America (threefirecouncil.org) in Charles' name would be appreciated.
