Charles Fredrick Rieser, 94 years old, of Toms River, NJ, peacefully passed away on September 1, 2025 at home in Toms River.
Funeral service and visitation will be held at Silverton Memorial on September 9th at 4-8pm. Services to honor Charles will begin at 6pm.
Charles was born in Newark, NJ to Fredrick and Erna Rieser on November 7, 1930. He went to high school at West Orange and graduated in 1950. He joined the Navy in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was an owner and operator of Dale and Rankin Equipment Co. In addition to being a very active Rotary member of East Hanover, he was President from 1987 -1988. He is a six-time winner of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. As a lifelong Mason, Charles was the Master Cope Stone lodge in 1962. Charles was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of East Hanover for over 50 years. Over the years, he held many titles and performed numerous tasks. He especially loved cooking at the Otis Churches Chicken BBQ for the community. He enjoyed laughing, fishing, sunsets and good food.
Charles survived by his daughter, Lori Baldwin of Denville and his son Eric Rieser of Toms River, NJ. Jeffrey Baldwin, Lori's husband. Kim Lovell-Rieser, Eric's wife and their 3 daughters, Ashley Rieser of Fords, NJ, Kassandra Clarie Rieser of Fords, NJ and Kelsey Lovell of Baton Rouge, LA. Also, Sister-in-law Sallie Rieser and two nieces Kelly Martinelli and Sherri Rieser of Hammonton, NJ. Also, Dennis and Carl Journey, nephews of East Hanover.
He is preceded in death by his Claire Rieser, wife of 68 years. Fredrick Rieser, father and Erna Klein, mother. Also his brother, Richard.
