Charles L. Rittenhouse, 84, of State Route 103 North, Lewistown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024 at William Penn Healthcare in Lewistown.
Born Nov. 7, 1940 in Bratton Twp., he was a son of the late Harry E. and Sylvia (Rebman) Rittenhouse Sr.. His wife, Anna Mary (Heister) Rittenhouse, whom he married Nov. 18, 1961, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Jeffrey L. Rittenhouse and wife Jacquelyn of Lewistown; a daughter, Karen L. Stimely of Lewistown; four grandchildren, Stephanie Rittenhouse, Courtney Wagner and husband Brett, Morgan Stimely and companion Dylan Nearhood, Danielle Will and husband Dylan; three great grandchildren, Owen Wagner, Lydia Wagner, Scarlett Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families, including great nephew Travis Maxwell and great great nephew Trenton Maxwell, both of whom farmed with him for many years.
Preceding him in death were 12 siblings, Esther Grassmyer, Ruth Ronk, Gladys Bartlett, Zana Hesser, Helen Espigh, James Rittenhouse, Mary Maxwell, Virginia Harshbarger, Hazel Fisher, Paul Rittenhouse, Harry Rittenhouse Jr., and Thelma Rittenhouse.
Charlie was a lifelong dairy farmer in Bratton Township.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024 at the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren, 61 Pine Glen Rd., Lewistown, with Daniel Stoltzfus officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren Kitchen Meals, 61 Pine Glen Rd., Lewistown, PA 17044.
