Charles "Chuck" West Roberson Jr, a most recent resident of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, at Kindred Hospital in El Paso, Texas with his family by his side.
Born in Makati, Philippines on July 4, 1949 to Rosela Dueñas Roberson and Charles West Roberson Sr., Chuck immigrated to the United States with his family when he was just two years old, settling in South Seattle. He attended John Muir Elementary, Sharples Junior High, and he graduated with the class of 1967 from Franklin High School.
Chuck will be remembered for his love for his family, his larger-than-life personality, and his great sense of humor. He loved to sing and dance, and he never missed a chance to grab the mic to sing karaoke, often choosing to impersonate his favorite singer, Elvis Presley. Chuck also enjoyed trying his luck at the casino where he found joy in the games and the atmosphere. A lifelong sports fan, he passionately cheered for the Mariners and Seahawks, and he especially loved watching boxing. Loyalty was very important to Chuck; if he trusted you, you always knew he would have your back. He was a good person to have on your team as he always found a way to make things happen, and he never backed down from a challenge.
In recent years, Chuck spent his time living between the Philippines, Seattle, and New Mexico with his devoted wife Lolita who he married in 2017. In addition to his wife Lolita, Chuck is survived by his children Charles III, Anita, Tanya (Manny), Gracie and his beloved puppy Mijo. Survivors also include grandchildren Jaila, Rubin, Nuh'Kosi, Celia, Jazmyn, Manny, Graycen, Anaya and Camila, his great-granddaughter Laila, and his first wife Yolanda Macias. He also is survived by his sisters Betty, Elsie, Merlyn and Patricia, and brothers Glen, John, and Dean - along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who became family. Chuck is preceded in death by his loving mother Rosela, his father Charles Sr., and his brothers Marvin and Jesse. Special recognition goes to his first cousin Elisea "Alice" Roberson who also preceded him in death, as she nursed him to health during his battle with throat cancer in 2008.
A viewing will be held at Columbia Funeral Home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 2–6 pm. On Friday May 23, 2025, a church service will be held at Seward Park Seventh-day Adventist Church at 11 am, with a viewing available at 10 am. The burial is to follow at Washington Memorial Park in SeaTac at 2 pm. A celebration of life will take place after the burial at Feast Buffet at 4 pm in Renton where friends and family are invited to gather and honor the one and only, Chuck Roberson Jr.
