Charles J. Schultz, 86, of Greene Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 21, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Mahaffey, PA on May 27, 1936 a son of the late Jerome and Bessie Breth Schultz.
Charles served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and worked at GE for 27 years as a welding inspector until his retirement. He owned Kirsch Road Shooting Supply and enjoyed hunting, working in his garage, gardening, and spending time with his family, and he loved his dog Zoey.
He was preceded in death by one great granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife of over 66 years, Peggy Wolfe Schultz; three daughters, Deborah Dyne, of Erie, Patricia Gregory (Raymond) of Pierpont, OH, and Brenda Cole (Gregory) of Summit Twp; two sons, Charles Ray Schultz of Punxsutawney, PA and Jerome Schultz (Annette) of Erie, Michigan; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.. Burial with full military honors will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Lakeland Area Hospice, 4635 E Lake Rd, Erie, PA 16511. The family would like to sincerely thank Tanya and Rachel for their compassion and loving care shown to Charles.
