Charles Conrad Schultz, 65, of Union, passed away January 28th, 2024, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
He was born August 7th, 1958, in Aurora, the son of James and Margaret (Bentz) Schultz. He grew up farming and fixing cars in Huntley, IL. On September 24th, 1989, he married the love of his life, Sandra Lee Stallbaum at St. John's Lutheran Church in Union, IL.
Conrad and Sandy built their home together alongside friends and family. They needed plenty of land so Conrad could continue his lifelong passion for farming. Conrad taught automotive classes at Johnsburg High School, was an Auto Technician at McGrath Buick in Elgin, and finished his work career at McHenry County Department of Transportation before retiring in 2020. To celebrate retirement, Conrad and Sandy bought an RV and traveled the country like they always talked about doing.
Conrad was a very proud dad of two daughters and loved his family fiercely. He was so happy to watch his girls get married to wonderful men in 2022 and 2023.
Conrad bravely fought lymphoma and leukemia for two years. Even when he was sick, he was the first to volunteer to help others. He impacted so many people's lives with his hard-working attitude and contagious smile.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandy; his children, Brianna Lee (Carl) Zarbock, and Rebecca Lee (Michael) Brunk; his mother, Peg Schultz; his sister, Barbara Ann (Jack) Sunderlage; his many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and countless wonderful friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring to enjoy good memories with friends and family. In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Conrad's name at www.stjude.org
