Charles Edward Timmons Jr., "Skeeter" age 85 of Westville, NJ died on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at home with his family. Born in Brooklawn, NJ to the late Charles Edward Timmons Sr. and Frances Marie (nee Bytheway), he graduated from Woodbury High School Class of 1960. Skeeter served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and served his community with the Westville Fire Department since the age of 16 years old. He retired from the Tasty Baking Company in Philadelphia where he was a plumber. In his spare time, he loved woodworking, country music, listening to Frank Sinatra, and traveling the United States.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte E. Timmons (nee Paul); his daughter, Michelle McCool & her husband, Drew of Westville; two grandchildren, Frank Amey (Amber) and Brian Amey; two great granddaughters, Paisley & Kinsley Amey; his sister, Carol Grizzard of Bowling Green, OH; sisters-in-law, Nancy Timmons of W. Deptford., NJ and Frances Munyan (Richard, predeceased) of Oak Valley, NJ; brother-in-law, Charles Paul (Barbara), of Homosassa, FL; and several nieces & nephews. Skeeter was predeceased by his brother, Eugene Timmons "Gene," and his brother-in-law, Cecil Grizzard.

Family & friends may visit from 9 am to 11 am on Monday, September 22nd at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial with military honors will follow in Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to the Army Historical Foundation or the charity of your choice.
