Obituary
Charles T. Tucker Jr., 54, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Charles was born on May 7, 1968 on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada to Charles Sr., and Elizabeth (Betty De Weese) Tucker. He grew up in Seelyville, Indiana and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Left to cherish the memory of Charles are his loving parents Charles and Elizabeth; sister, Christine (Steven) Cooke; nephew, M. Christopher (Kimberly) Prothero and great-nephews, Alexander and Owen Prothero.
He graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in 1986, then went on to earn an Associate Degree in Broadcasting from Vincennes University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Ohio State University. He worked for WNDU-TV in South Bend, WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio and devoted 17 years to Wings, Etc. CT (as he was known in the family) enjoyed working polling stations (usually as Sheriff or Judge) with his mother, and several times served as delegate to the Indiana State Republican Convention. He was a campaign worker and friend of Congresswoman Jackie Walorski of the Indiana Second District. He was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, visiting Graceland on several occasions. He was a Civil War buff, and was known in the family as Univac for his encyclopedic like knowledge of US Presidents, American History, Indiana History, and Indiana High School basketball. He could tell you the starting lineup of every school who ever played in a state championship game. One of the high points in life was when he met Marv Wood, the coach of Milan High School who won the state championship that was dramatically portrayed in the movie "Hoosiers". He was an extra in the move "Hoosiers" and can clearly be seen in the aftermath of the winning shot. He also had an intense passion for his favorite sports teams: NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Las Vegas Golden Knights, Columbus Blue Jackets and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Charles had a great sense of humor and was a bit of a prankster. Charles was on a championship darts team. CT loved cats and large dogs. Many would say that CT always had a positive attitude and had knowledge on so many things. Charles was always a good friend and never showed any disrespect or negativity to anyone. He was honest to a fault-he would not/could not tell a lie. He was a great son, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Visitation for Charles will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home 824 S Mayflower Rd. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN from 12:00pm to 1:00pm with a service to begin at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Ohio State University, Tunnels to Towers, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
