Charlie Douglas Buchanan, Jr., age 66, of Belton, SC, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Rainey Hospice House.
He was born in Belton, SC, on October 30, 1958, being the son of Betty Ashley Buchanan and the late Charlie Douglas Buchanan, Sr.
Doug retired in sales as a district sales manager. He graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School in 1976. He loved football and was a colossal Clemson Tiger fan. He supported his Tigers not only by attending sporting events, but also as a member of Clemson University IPTAY. Doug enjoyed cooking and being with his family. He had a stellar personality and made friends wherever he traveled. His children, grands and other family members will miss his laughter, wit and the unconditional love he had for each.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Ashley Buchanan; son, Charlie Douglas "Trey" Buchanan, III; daughters, Margo Buchanan and Ashley Buchanan Estep; sister, Teresa Ford (Steve); grandchildren Emma, Elias and Olivia; and his niece, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Rev. Brent Lollis will officiate. The Committal Service and burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
