Charlie Simmons

Charlie Simmons entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the age of 79. He was a native of Hazel, Alabama and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Charlie was employed as a mechanic for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, MI for many years. He had a deep love for fast cars, boxing, blues music, and a big plate of soul food. His ride through life was one of love, strength, and grace. Beloved father of Tracy Simmons (Jessica) Davis, Frederick Nathaniel Simmons, Natacha Kimbrough, Donmonique Kelson, Christopher Kelley and Shawnece Carr. Son of the late Ethel Evans and Tom Simmons, II. Brother of Josephine (Floyd) Turner, Ethel Mae Evans, Rebecca Lawson, Walter (Gail) Simmons and the late Willie James Cline, Will Taylor and Mary Louise Watts. also survived by 10 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Household of Faith and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Household of Faith, 712 27th St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
