Charlotte M. Eftink, 72, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at her home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born January 4, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, to Emmett and Olga Free.
Charlotte was a graduate of Chaffee High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She received a bachelor's degree in art and a master's degree in education. She taught 29 years in Chaffee Public Schools, retiring in 2000.
During her retirement years, Charlotte enjoyed making pottery, growing herbs, and making soaps and salves. She sold her goods at the Thursday and Saturday Farmer's Market in Cape Girardeau.
Charlotte loved being a mother, for her children, Sarah and Aaron, and for her felines, Jasmine and Sophie.
To cherish her memory, Charlotte leaves her daughter, Sarah Eftink (Seth Sherman) of Cape Girardeau; and her cats, Jasmine and Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Aaron Eftink (June 9, 2023).
To celebrate Charlotte's life, a memorial visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to service time, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. At 7 p.m., Sarah Eftink will open a time for guests to share special memories of her mother.
Memorial contributions may take the form of contributions to Sarah Eftink to help cover final expenses.
