Charlotte attended Gap Mills School. She was married to her husband Lee for over 60 years. She was a dedicated mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, researching genealogy, watching Christmas movies, painting, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as six of her siblings, Lula Mae Pyne, William McKinley Pyne, Pauline Elizabeth Pyne Richards, Samuel Hampton Pyne, Noah Granville Pyne, and Ernest Lawrence Pyne.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Porterfield, two sons, Gregory Porterfield and Richard Porterfield (Rebekah), one daughter, Heather Porterfield Hayden (Adam), a brother, Edgar Lee Pyne (Thelma), and four sisters, Juanita Faye Pyne, Mary Rachel Pyne Dalton (Gary), Sarah Isabel Pyne Richards (Ershel), and Violet Lucille Pyne Richards (Ralph), four grandchildren, Gary Vincent Brown, Sidney Elise Weaver (Steve), Spenser Caleb Porterfield (Kaitlyn) and Destiny Madison Porterfield Busuulwa (Douglas), four great grandchildren, Braska Marie Brown, Alexander Lee Porterfield, Liam Caleb Porterfield and Sadie Marie Porterfield, and many nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, January 2, 2023, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Richard Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Memorial Gardens in Lindside, WV. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until 12:45pm on Monday at the funeral home.
