Charlotte M. Watson, 84, of Bellefonte, peacefully entered into her eternal rest on Friday, May 30, 2025. Born on June 4, 1940, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Harry Haines and Margaret (Casper) Young. On December 29, 1957, at the Advent Church, she married the love of her life, James L. Watson, who preceded her in death September 27, 2017.
Charlotte graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1958. She worked as a cashier at G. C. Murphy Co. for more than 20 years. She then became a driver for Stauffer Bus Transportation for 20 years.
Charlotte was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed coloring, reading, scouting, bowling, and traveling. Her dream vacation was to go to Memphis to see Graceland and she accomplished that dream in 2018. She liked to go on cruises and attend gospel concerts all over. She served as the president of the Advent Historical Society for 20 years and assisted in the restoration of the Advent Church on Moose Run. She was a warm and loving mother and grandmother, held her faith close to her heart, and cherished the friendships she made throughout life.
Charlotte is survived by a large family that includes but is not limited to three sons, James L. Watson, Jr. (Bonnie) of Milesburg, Mark E. Watson (Gwen) of Howard, Rex A. Watson (Kinsie) of Huntingdon; daughter, Debra Wilhelm (Walt) of MD; one brother, Gary K. Young (Carol) of State College; grandchildren, Steven Watson (Tonie), Samantha Watson (Adam Lawrence), Lyle "Hoss" Watson, Christopher Thomas (Amy), Andrew Thomas, Ashly Sumner (Aaron), Travis Watson (Kharyn), Corie Watson (Tim Shirk) with a baby on the way, Michael Fulger (Serenity), Makayla Clapper (Patrick), Tiannah Shaffer (Camryn Brenneman), Savannah Shaffer (Miranda Hornberger), Paula Creveling, Shellie Sovak, and Jocelyn Sharpes (Chris); great grandchildren, Brody Watson, Aubrey Watson, Caden Thomas, Elena Thomas, Logan Thomas, Claudia Thomas, Riley Bartley, Abel Sumner, Nathan Watson, Ryder Tenalio, Remmie Tenalio, Trenton Shirk, Lucas Clapper, Blakelynn Brenneman, Erin Creveling (Preston Melton), John "JT" Creveling (Hannah) with a baby on the way, Jayme Creveling (Dylan Donathan), Kerri Creveling (Fernando Perez), and Rosey Creveling (Brooke Cox); and great great grandchildren, Angelina Swaime, Helaina Melton, Brixton Melton, Mattix Melton, Josephine Donathan, Casey Donathan, Maria Perez, and Sylvanus Perez.
A viewing will be held at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc. in Milesburg on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 6pm – 8pm. A funeral service will be held at the Advent Church on Moose Run Road on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10:30 am with Paul Deering officiating. Charlotte will be laid to rest privately at the Advent Cemetery next to her husband.
