Chelsea Scott Cliborne, 36, of Summerville, SC, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter and love.
Family and Friends are invited to a gathering on Monday, April 7th, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483.
Born April 4, 1988, to William (BJ) Scott and Suzanne Connors Scott, Chelsea grew up in Summerville where she played high school soccer (mainly for the snacks and the post-game celebrations). She went on to attend both College of Charleston and Trident Tech.
Chelsea met her soulmate, Steven L. Cliborne, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, chaos, and the kind of joy that only a family of sports-obsessed kids can bring. She was their loudest cheerleader-literally-from the sidelines of every basketball and football game. If the concession stand sold megaphones, she probably owned one.
Chelsea had an uncanny ability to remember every line from Pride and Prejudice and The Princess Bride-and quote them at just the right moment. She loved road trips (especially to Sugar Mountain for skiing, or to Carowinds Amusement Park) and always found a way to make every vacation feel like a scene from a sitcom, usually starring herself.
Chelsea worked at A3 Communications as an office manager for 12 years, where she was known for keeping things running smoothly-and for bringing her signature sense of humor to even the busiest days.
Chelsea had a laugh that could light up a room, and a wit that kept you on your toes. She is deeply missed by all who knew her-and especially by those brave enough to challenge her in 80s music trivia (spoiler: she always won). Above all, she adored her two sons, who were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Cliborne; her children: Greyson L. Cliborne and Gannon L. Cliborne; her loving parents, BJ and Suzanne Scott; her brother, Christopher W. Scott; her aunts and uncles: Glenn Connors, Sean Connors, Shannon Connors, Deborah Turner and Kenneth Scott; her nieces and nephews: Bryce Butler, Wesley Scott and Maddox Scott; her cousins:Kenneth Turner and Joseph Olsen; as well as her grandmother, Margaret Scott. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Glenn Connors, Emily Keezell and William Scott.
