Cheryl Kolasa, age 59, of Hillsdale, passed away at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital on Monday, March 4, 2024. She was born on April 24, 1964, in Detroit to Fred Purcell and Barbara (Brooks) Reznick. She married Scott Thomas Kolasa on December 20, 1989, and he survives.
Cheryl graduated from Utica High School class of 1982, and went on to become a dedicated homemaker, mother, and wife. She was an avid collector of angel knickknacks as well as a lover of all music. She could be found spending quality time with her grandchildren, cooking food and baking goodies for anyone in the family to enjoy.
Survivors include her mother; her husband of 34 years, Scott Kolasa of Hillsdale; three children, Chelsea (Matt McLain) Kolasa of Hillsdale, Kyle (Jamie) Kolasa of Hillsdale, and Derek Haddix of Detroit; ten grandchildren, Destinee, McKenzie, Lillian, Lilli, Mathew, Lukas, Casey, Bryce, Logan, and Corbin; and three siblings, Barb (Jim) Robinette, Cheryl Reznick, and Mathew Reznick.
Preceded are her father, and one child, Amber Kolasa.
A visitation for Cheryl Kolasa will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, with cremation to follow.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Greater Hillsdale Humane Society.
