Cheryl A. Mayott, 68 years old, of Amsterdam, NY passed way Friday, April 28, 2017 at home surrounded by all her loved ones after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Cheryl was a graduate of Guilderland High School, 1966. Later years she attended Albany Medical Center Nursing School and received her LPN. She worked at Ellis hospital of Schenectady for 23 years. At this time she met the love of her life, Stephen Mayott, working at the hospital. They married October 17, 2004 and became soul mates. Cheryl enjoyed many hobbies and interest of shopping, cooking, baking, camping and crocheting for many family members and friends. She was born October 5, 1948 in Albany, NY, to late Janet and Olden Nordstrum. She is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen; and also survived by three siblings, twin sister Patricia Sienkiewicz (Richard), Valerie Marchisio and Eric Nordstrum. She is also survived by her three children from a previous marriage, they are Kristopher (Debby) Olson from Texas, Kimberly (David) Lynch of Esperence, NY and Janet Paquette of Texas. She is survived by four wonderful grandchildren; and great-grandson; and her only surviving Aunt Shirley Nash of Albany. Also all her extended family and friends. Calling hours are Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the De Stefano Funeral Home, 1414 St. Hwy, Rt 5S, Amsterdam. Funeral services are Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by church services, 11 a.m. at the Florida Reform Church with the Rev. Chuck Hesselnk, Officiating. Burial will follow at the Chuctahunda Cemetery. At this time we would like to thank all the staff and Doctor at the NY Oncology Hematology. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation Gift Processing Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.FUNERAL HOME
