Christian Daigle Obituary

Christian Patrick Daigle passed away at his home on October 6, secure in his love of God and surrounded by extensive family. He was 69 years old.

Born to Stanley and Carol Daigle on December 29, 1955, he lived in the New Orleans area for his entire life. He attended St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic School and earned his high school diploma from Bonnabel High. He met his wife, "Ginny," at the young age of 14 and went on to spend the rest of his life with her.

Chris had a career in communications and spent many years with Cox Communications as a supervisor and team leader. He was also the operator/owner and partner for WD Incorporated and Communications Continuum, respectively. In his years as a "Tower Dog," Chris was often a father figure, mentor, and the epitome of guy's guy amongst the men who worked for him. Chris began supporting a family at a very young age (employed by NAPA Auto Parts) and understood the importance of a rigorous work ethic. Whatever his family needed, he made certain that they had it, and he encouraged and celebrated his children's success.

Chris was a lover of the outdoors and camping, and he traveled with family and friends to numerous state and national parks. He had a keen interest in history, particularly the Civil War and World War II, and would have liked to eventually spend his retirement years volunteering at the National World War II Museum. Chris loved to research and document his own family's ancestry, a passion he picked up from his father and passed along to one of his daughters. He enjoyed taking road trips with his wife, reading, fishing, checking out the classic cars at Cruisin' the Coast, and watching the Saints and LSU Tigers win. He was always good company for a beer, and the crawfish boils he put on with his son-in-law were legendary. More than anything, as a proud husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, he relished spending time with family.

Both at work and in personal relationships, he was charismatic and personable. As far as men go, anyone would be thoroughly blessed to have simply known him. He will be sorely missed and mourned by many; may we aspire to be half of the force of goodness, love, and friendship that he embodied every day of his life.

Christian is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia (née Ross); children: Scott (wife Jennifer Mueller), Jessica (partner Andrew Poland), and Nicole (husband Ryan Izatt); grandchildren: Madelyn, Ella, and Coco; siblings: Daniel Daigle (Stephanie), Elise McGinley (Kevin), Nanette Jarvis (late, David), and Jan Garcia (David); sisters-in-law: Kathy Warren (late, Tom) and Rosalind Smith (Jay); and a large number of close cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Carol Daigle; and siblings, André and Jami Daigle.

Services will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m., with the memorial service to take place at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family believes that Chris would enjoy donations in his memory to the National World War II Museum at www.nationalww2museum.org or Los Isleños Heritage and Cultural Society at www.losislenos.org.
