Christian Brent Slate, age 31 of Marietta, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Christian grew up in Paulding County and lived in Marietta, Georgia. He loved his family and friends-the time he spent with all of us were his happiest moments in life. Christian loved his church-Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, music, the University of Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Falcons (when they were doing well). He never met a stranger, and always made everyone feel welcome and included. Christian was very outgoing and believed in spreading the Love all around with his wonderful hugs and infectious smile, and his keen wit and kindness. His most precious moments in life were the little things, but to him they were everything. He was so proud of his brothers and his family. He posted that 2023 would be his most successful year, and he claimed it.
Christian is survived by his parents Stephanie and David Slate; brothers Chase and Bailey Slate; sisters-in-law Lacy and Sierra; nephews Riley, Wheeler, Rhett, and Weston; and the most amazing grandparents anyone could ever hope to have- Frank and Theresa Parkins; his aunt and uncle Leigh and Justin Streeter; and cousins Hillary Harris and Haven Rehor.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2023 in the chapel of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church with a reception to follow in the Magnolia Room.
