Christine Grenon Place, age 56, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of James "Jaime" Place for 32 years, and the devoted mother of their children: Chelsea Place and her partner Steve Lombardo of Northbridge; Emily Roach and her husband Clinton of Woonsocket; and Lucas Place and his partner Alyssa Wentworth of Whitinsville. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren: Travis, Natalie, Branden, Ryan, Eleanora, Logan, Zoey, and Lincoln.
Christine is also survived by her parents, Ronald Grenon of Douglas and Rita Wilson and her partner, Mike, of Port Charlotte, Florida; her brother Steven Grenon and his wife Alanna of Sutton; four sisters: Jennifer Grenon of Raynham, Brenda Wilson and her partner Pam Buswell of Upton, Jessica Grenon and her husband Ed of Whitinsville, and Angela Olson and her husband Chris of Southbridge; her step-brother William French and his wife Andrea of Holyoke; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and four family dogs Union, Axel, Alex, and Olive.
Born on April 25, 1969, in
Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Christine grew up in Northbridge and graduated from Northbridge High School in 1987, meeting the love of her life, Jaime the same year. After attending Rob Roy Academy in Worcester, she worked as a hairdresser for several years before dedicating herself fully to raising her family as a stay-at-home mother. During this time, she lovingly cared for many friends' children and generously helped family with haircuts. Until earlier this year, Christine was employed in balance and audit at Loomis in Boylston, where she dedicated 25 years of service.
Christine unwaveringly supported her family in all of their pursuits. Through her husband and son's involvement in dirt bike racing, she developed a deep love for the sport and could often be found cheering them on. A devoted sports fan, she never missed a Patriots game and proudly supported all the Boston teams. She found peace and happiness in moon gazing, watching fireworks, dancing around the house to her favorite music, especially Sugarland and ABBA, doing puzzles, and spending time outdoors, whether camping or at the beach. Though gardening never quite became her talent, she dearly loved daisies and flowers, which always brought her joy.
Christine leaves behind many whose lives were touched by her kindness, loyalty, and love, and she, and her unmistakable laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
