Christopher Andreas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Murphy Funeral Home - Ewing Township on Sep. 13, 2024.
Christopher E. Andreas II, 63, known to his friends and family as Chris or 'Sto", passed away on September 8, 2024, in his birthplace of Trenton, New Jersey. Born on August 8, 1961, Chris lived a full and enriching life that touched many through his generous spirit and kind heart.
Chris graduated from Ewing High School and furthered his education by attending Mercer County Community College, laying a foundation for his entrepreneurial journey. In 1979, he co-founded Andreas Landscape Co., Inc. with his twin brother, Thomas. Together, they turned their company into a staple of the community, providing exceptional lawn and landscape services for over four decades.
Chris's passion for the earth's beauty extended far beyond his professional life into his personal interests. An avid gardener, he spent countless hours nurturing his home garden, a space that radiated the same warmth and care his father had invested in it years before. His love for gardening led him to become an active member of the Seed Savers Exchange in Iowa, where he shared over 100 varieties of vegetable and flower seeds with fellow green thumbs, contributing to the preservation of plant diversity and heritage.
The Hunterdon 4H Fair was graced with Chris's presence for more than a quarter of a century. Alongside his brother, he presented their renowned Chili Pepper display, a testament to their horticultural skills and a highlight of the fair which was formerly known as the Flemington Fair. The pair also participated in the Middletown Grange Fair, where their vibrant personalities and deep knowledge of agriculture made them well-known figures.
Chris was predeceased by his father, Christopher E. Andreas Sr., and his mother, Mary R. Andreas. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that lives on through his twin brother, Thomas, and sister, Christine, who will deeply miss his thoughtful guidance and unwavering support.
Those who knew Chris would describe him using a multitude of positive adjectives, but three in particular stood out: thoughtful, passionate, and kind. He approached life with a gentle strength that inspired those around him. Whether he was tending to a client's landscape or exchanging gardening tips with a fellow enthusiast, Chris did so with a level of care and enthusiasm that was truly infectious. He loved to spend the off-season months in warmer climates, especially St. Croix where he had developed long-time friends. It was his home away from home for many years!!
Chris's life was a testament to the impact one individual can have on their community. His commitment to the environment, his family, and his friends will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. As the seasons change and the vegetables in his garden continue to grow, we will be reminded of Chris's vibrant spirit-a legacy that will continue to flourish in the hearts of those he has left behind.
His departure from this world was peaceful, surrounded by the landscapes he so dearly loved and the family who cherished him. While the absence of his presence will be felt profoundly, the memories he created, the lives he enriched, and the beauty he cultivated will endure.
In honoring Christopher E. Andreas II, we celebrate a life well-lived, a community bettered by his efforts, and a natural world made more beautiful by his hands. He will be sorely missed, yet forever remembered for his kindness, passion, and thoughtfulness in a world that was made brighter by his existence.

Chris and Tom started my lawn care when they were teens with a push mower and continue their excellent lawn services to this day. I was in my early twenties and am seventy-seven now. That is a lot of time. Barbara Dyett

I knew Chris for over 25 years and he was such a solid person with a huge heart. We had a few conversations every year and had very cool thoughts about Life. I will miss our deep conversations about Life.
