Christopher Kessler, 72, of Evansville, passed away May 25, 2024 at his home. He was born December 6, 1951 in Evansville to Mary Louise (Varley) and Dr. Robert Kessler.
Chris graduated from Memorial High School and from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He worked as a locomotive engineer for CSX. Chris loved classical music and playing the piano. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Chris was a dedicated scout, earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts of America. He was a very faith-filled and spiritual person.
Chris is survived by daughter, Gretchen (Bradley) Simpson; granddaughter, Alexandria Miller; grandson, Spencer Miller; father of his grandchildren, Bart Miller; sisters, Connie Kessler, Becky (Steve) Winternheimer, Mary Beth Otterbein and Ann (Steve) Parrett; brothers, Mike (Glo) Kessler and Father Thomas Kessler; sisters-in-law, Judy (Terry) Timberlake, Kathy (Flavien) Elpers and Karen Zimmer; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne (Kennedy) Kessler; son, Isaac Kessler; sister, Julie Pace; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Kennedy and Mark Zimmer; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Louise and Arthur Kennedy.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2024 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. A Memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Father Tom Kessler officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
