Christopher Kirchen of Niles, Illinois, formerly of Evanston and Winnetka, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023. He was the beloved stepson of Linda Kirchen from Grafton, Wisconsin, and a cherished brother of Bryan Kirchen and his wife Carrie from Deerfield, Illinois. Chris was also a loving stepbrother to Cathie Johnson and her husband Eric from Grafton, Wisconsin. He took immense pride in being an uncle to Maxwell and Lexi Kirchen, Crystal Bullis and her husband Tim, and Dylan Johnson and his wife Meg. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Karr, and father, Michael Kirchen.
Throughout his life, Chris treasured his family and friends and found solace and happiness in life's simplest pleasures. Despite the numerous medical challenges he faced, he always wore a smile on his face. His love for his nieces and nephews knew no bounds, and he was passionate about comics, movies, Star Trek, and Harry Potter. Chris possessed an extraordinary strength that allowed him to endure hardships that would have overwhelmed others, making him a true embodiment of Superman. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 8th, at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chris's memory to the March of Dimes. This organization holds a special place in Chris's heart, as he believed in their mission to improve the health of mothers and babies. Contributions in his honor will help continue their important work and serve as a fitting tribute to Chris's caring and compassionate nature.
