Delbert J. Wacker, 93, beloved husband of the late Irene Wacker, nee Moeller; loving father of Beth (Scott) Brady, Jo (Paul) Zuba, Amy Wacker Habermehl and Jim (Eileen) Wacker; cherished grandfather of Matt, Drew, Claire, Samantha, Jessica, Colin, Evan and Julia; beloved great-grandfather of 10, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025. After serving in the Air Force and a 34-year career at Arthur Andersen & Co., Del served on many boards. His passion for golf, his enjoyment of automobiles and his involvement in his church were paramount in his life. These joys second only to his love for his wife of 52 years and his entire immediate and extended family.

There is a lot that can be said about anyone who reaches their nineties. But what are the few, very important things that SHOULD be said about Del? Integrity was the hallmark of his life. It never mattered whether people were watching or not, he always did the right thing. As an Accountant, you would expect nothing less. He was a generous man, always willing to help, using his time, talent and treasure as needed. And finally, he was a man of faith. Although he lived quietly, his life was a resounding reflection of God's love and generosity. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him. It's a fairly safe bet though that he's up there right now helping the good Lord balance the Book of Life. Services were private. Memorials in Del's honor may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1850 Chestnut Avenue, Glenview, IL 60025.
