Christopher Lynn Read, 38, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away with his wife by his side Saturday, August 23, 2025, at UK Medical Center. He was born October 29, 1986, in Owensboro, Kentucky to Janet Voland Hermann and the late Lynn Read. Chris was employed by G&S Pawn Shop and formerly employed by various restaurants in Ohio County. He was also a member of the Amateur Pool Players of America Owensboro Chapter.

Aside from his father he was preceded in death his maternal grandfather, Richard W. Voland; paternal grandparents, Rayburn and Rosa Nell Read; uncles, Ronnie, Walter, James; aunt at heart, Violet "Sis" Payne; nephew, Zach Basham and close friend, Cody Carlisle.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his longtime friend and wife, Delores
"Dee" Read; daughter at heart Destina "Jade" Frazier; mother, Janet (Butch) Hermann; maternal granny, Mary I. Voland; sister, Mary (Tim) Cherolis; brother-in-law, Chris (Brittney) Basham; uncles, Steve (Sally) Read, Terry (Lou) Moore; aunts, Lois (Gary) Moore, Carolyn (Walter) Porter and Joyce Baushke; nephew, TJ Basham; niece, Andria Basham; brothers at heart, Mark (Tabitha) Black and Monte (Catrina) Gullet; nieces and nephews at heart, Michael, Jordan, Naveah, Conner, Brayden, Kaylee; great niece, Violett and great nephews, William and Antonio; two fur daughters, Belle & Cinnamon and many many friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 28, 2025, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Point Pleasant "Little Bend" in Butler County, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Chris' family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
