Christopher E. Simmons

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher Edward (Chris) Simmons, 29, of Mechanicville, NY, on May 25, 2024, as a result of injuries he sustained after being struck by a motor vehicle.
Chris was born in Saratoga Springs, NY to Michael Simmons and Martha Barron Simmons on March 21, 1995. He graduated from Ballston Spa High School in 2013. Chris worked as a mechanic in shops in New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut for several years. In 2023, he began working as an assembly technician at Precision Valve Automation (PVA) in Halfmoon, NY. Chris was hardworking, determined and accepted new challenges and excelled at what he did. He was excited about his future and was considering continuing his education.
Chris will be remembered for his loyalty to those he cared for most, his wise-cracking sense of humor, his willingness to help and his love of penguins. He treasured his time at the family camp in Margaretville, NY. Chris will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David D. Simmons and Virginia L. Simmons; his maternal grandparents, Ralph J. Barron, Jr. and Eva G. Barron; and his maternal uncle, Stephen M. Barron. Chris is survived by his father, Michael D. Simmons of Mechanicville, NY; his mother, Martha A. Barron (Aimee Brunelle) of Schenectady, NY; his sister, Caitlyn A. Simmons of Malta, NY; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, June 1 from 12pm to 2pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa, NY. Services will follow at 2pm.
